Editorial-Peer Review Process
The peer review process is a critical and foundational aspect of the publication procedure, significantly impacting the credibility and reputation of a journal. To maintain the highest standards of integrity and trust, the International Research Journal of Advances in Computing Sciences (IRJACS), an HEC-recognized and accredited journal, rigorously adheres to the peer review guidelines established by the HEC.
Internal/Desk Review
Upon submission, each paper undergoes an initial internal or desk review conducted by a member of the editorial board, who assesses the paper for compliance with formatting requirements, adherence to publication ethics, and basic research protocols. This review also evaluates the paper’s contribution to existing literature. Papers that do not meet these fundamental criteria are not forwarded for external review.
External Review
Following a successful internal review, IRJACS employs a double-blind review process. During this stage, authors are required to anonymize their submissions to prevent their identities from being disclosed inadvertently to reviewers. This involves removing personal information from the manuscript and refraining from posting the paper on any website which could reveal their identity. Should personal details be initially included, a sanitized version of the paper is prepared for review.
Reviewers, who are expected to maintain confidentiality and declare any potential conflicts of interest, are provided with a reviewer proforma to guide their assessment. They are given a timeline of 4–5 weeks to complete their reviews, with reminders sent out in cases of non-compliance.
Through this meticulous peer-review process, IRJACS ensures the publication of high-quality and ethically sound research, reinforcing its commitment to the advancement of knowledge within the computing sciences.
